Debuted: Otakon 2012 The main white garment is made from white bridal satin, with casa satins for the detailing. It was sort of a pain in the butt to make. Collar is just two layers of pleated organza. Sleeves and Skirt: The images on the sleeves are all satin stitched applique, and the skirt is a combination of hand painting and applique. Head cranes: Poster board that I painted red, folded into origami cranes (thanks to Youtube for the tutorial!), and attached to a thin head band. The "tails" are wonderflex with holes poked in for the beads to hang from. Tights: Came to me looking more pink than red, so I had to dye them with "Tulip Red" Dylon dye. "Obi"/belt: I sewed some plastic boning between the top and the lining to give it more structure. Closes in the back with velcro, and the bow is permenantly attached so I don't have to keep re-doing it when I wear. The buttons are sewn on a "false" flap in the front. Petticoat: The petticoat I ordered on E-bay was super flat and unimpressive - so I added a ton of extra red tulle to get the skirt fluff I wanted. Wig: It's from "Cosplay Wig" on Ebay. Heat resistant, and the most beautiful and manageable Miku wig I have gotten yet. I've gone through several Mikuwigs that have self destructed and tangled after the first wear. This one was much more manageable. LOVE it. Soft and soooo pretty! |
